RECOGNIZING YOUR CHALLENGES

Does this sound like you?

IT’S EXHAUSTING TRYING TO HOLD IT ALL TOGETHER

You are trying to keep up with everything, yet it still feels like you are falling behind. You frequently worry and try to problem-solve. You’re irritable and snapping at people you care about. Life might feel out of control. It’s overwhelming, and you’re tired of managing it alone.

YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORST CRITIC

You’re quick to judge yourself when you make mistakes. Comparing yourself to others makes you feel smaller. No matter how much you do, it doesn't feel good enough. Shame shows up often. You slip into coping strategies that help in the moment, but leave you feeling stuck. Deep down, you wish you could treat yourself with the same care you offer others.

YOU WANT TO SLOW DOWN, BUT YOUR MIND WON'T LET YOU

Your mind is constantly spinning. Your time is spent reliving the past, worrying about the future, or trying hard to avoid painful feelings. Concentration is difficult, and it’s hard to be fully engaged in the things and people that matter most. You want to feel more grounded and more connected to yourself and your life.

LET’S FIND A WAY BACK TO YOU

How I can help

01

ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT THERAPY

I help clients learn how to unhook from difficult thoughts and feelings, identify their values, explore ways that one can live within their values, and encourage practicing self-compassion.

02

MINDFULNESS-BASED THERAPY

Using mindfulness strategies, I aim to help you learn how to accept and move through painful emotions without pushing them away. I also integrate strategies and philosophies from Buddhist Psychology, which has a strong focus on mindfulness and self-compassion.

03

ERP AND I-CBT FOR OCD

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) helps clients learn how to face the distressing triggers without engaging in compulsions or rituals. I also integrate Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), which helps with better identifying OCD thoughts and patterns.

HELPING YOU FIND YOUR BALANCE

Hi, I’m Julia

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Tallahassee, Florida. I received both my bachelors and masters in social work from Florida State University. I have experience working in a variety of settings, such as Hospice, sexual violence and domestic violence centers, healthcare, and university settings. I am also certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C).

My goal is to help you navigate through life's challenges in a safe and non-judgmental space so you may live a more balanced, authentic, and peaceful life. I want to help you feel like you are living as the person you truly want to be. I take an experiential, hands-on approach by providing you with practical tools you can use in your daily life. I see myself as a cheerleader and will work to empower you by identifying and utilizing your strengths, increasing your personal insight, and helping you see these challenges with a different perspective. I genuinely want to help you reach your goals and find relief.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy crocheting, spending time with my family, hiking, and getting lost in a good book. I also have a big love for animals. If I’m out and about and someone has a dog, there’s a very good chance I’ll stop to ask if I can pet it.
